... The Neiman Marcus department store caters to the exclusive tastes of the wealthy, but sometimes the royal treatment goes too far. As a goodwill gesture, the store once sent thank-you notes to men who had purchased valuable jewelry. The store sent those notes to the men's homes, where some of the letters were opened by wives for whom that valuable jewelry had not been purchased.
